Blubber experiment 🐻❄️
8th Feb 2024
P2 and P3 have been busy bees this week working as scientists. We carried out an experiment to check if blubber kept the polar bears warm in the Arctic. First we predicted what we thought would be the result, and then we carried out a fair test. We got a basin and filled it with icy cold water. We then put one hand into the water for 5 seconds and the other hand covered in a glove with lard to act as the blubber into the water too. We found that the hand with the glove covered in lard was the warmest. We learned that blubber keeps Polar bears warm in the cold temperatures of the Arctic.
