Day 1: Below is a diary entry from our cyclists first day.
Long day on the minibus
Left school at 5am and arrived at Mizen Head around 2pm.
Weather was beautiful. Headed off around 3pm, Condition were good for cycling. The good weather left the roads busy.
Cycled about 60 miles today with a long 9 mile climb after Glengarriff up to the tunnel at the top of the climb. Fantastic descent through the arches and arrived in Kenmare around 6.30.
Everyone very tired after long drive and cycle over mountain. Heading straight to bed now. Early start in morning. Up at 6.30am breakfast at 7 am and on the road by 8am sharp.
