Mizen to Malin Day 2:

20th Sep 2019

Day 2:

8am start this morning from Kenmare

Cold air but good for what lay ahead.

10km climb of over 1000ft up to Mall’s Gap. Unfortunately, we were too early and Avocca hadn’t opened yet.

Spectacular descent down to Killarney where we passed some horses and traps. From there we headed to Tralee and had a quick stop.

Temperatures climbed throughout the day and we stopped in Listowel for food which we took onto the ferry at Tarbert. Linked up with the children from the ferry. We had 70 miles done at this stage.

Once off the ferry we had to climb again from sea level and cycle another 30 miles to Ennis in County Clare.

To date we have cycled through Cork, Kerry and Clare. Today we cycled 100miles and climbed over 1400ft.

Tomorrow we’ll start at 7.30am as we have a long day ahead cycling 120miles, our longest day to date. Next stop will be in County Galway in the town of Oranmore.
